Daniel Kawczynski MP hosted Mr Sufu Miah and his family in Parliament today.
Mr Miah, Chairman of the Shropshire Bangladeshi Welfare Society, has received a British Empire Medal for services to the local community. Mr Miah has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity over the years, mainly Shropshire charities and good causes but also to help the Indian sub-continent.
Before heading to Buckingham Palace to receive his honour, Mr Kawczynski welcomed Mr Miah for a tour of the Houses of Parliament and enjoyed a cup of tea afterward.
Mr Kawczynski said:
“I was delighted to host Mr Miah and his family today. He is an incredible individual who has gone above and beyond in his commitment to our local community. Mr Miah’s honour is thoroughly deserved.”
