Last weekend, Saturday 8th August 2022, Daniel Kawczynski MP visited Shrewsbury Library to buy a signed copy of Geoffrey Fitchett’s book ‘The Rescuists’. Daniel was pleased to support his constituent’s book signing event.
At the event, a family approached Daniel and reminded him of their backstory. During the final years of Robert Mugabe’s dictatorship in Zimbabwe, he sponsored this family for asylum here in the UK. The family are immensely grateful to the UK for welcoming them and they were excited to tell Daniel about their new life here.
