The Officers of Shrewsbury Conservative Association today announced the following changes.
Following a UK wide boundary review encompassing all 650 Parliamentary constituencies the “Shrewsbury and Atcham Conservative Association” was formally dissolved on the 14th of September 2023 and the new “Shrewsbury Conservative Association” was formed.
The new team of Officers elected at the AGM in June will continue in place until the next AGM in 2024. They are:
Chairman: Ian Burgess. Ian was previously the Deputy Chairman Political and brings a wealth of experience to the role.
Deputy Chairman Political: Mike Davis. Mike was previously the communications officer and has a great business background in the town.
Deputy Chairman Membership: Jeff Anderson. Jeff has been in post for two years now and is a businessman who runs a gym in Mardol.
Treasurer: Simon Jeavons. Simon is newly appointed to the role and comes with a wealth of financial experience.
Fundraising/Patrons: Richard Canfer-Taylor. Richard runs a tax advice business and with his extensive contacts list will be a great asset on the fundraising side of the role.
Communications: Joseph Pragg. Joseph has recently returned to Shrewsbury after completing his degree and will help us on all aspects of social media.
The new Association remains committed to its primary goal of getting candidates elected at every level of Government and are currently focussed on the next General election sometime in late 2024. We have an excellent candidate in Daniel Kawczynski and look forward to meeting you all on the doorsteps in the coming months.
Officers will be giving updates with regards to ongoing work and projects around the Town such as Policing in the Town Centre. The North West Relief Road. The Hospital redevelopment project. The Smithfield Road re-development project.
