The Home Secretary, Priti Patel, made a planned visit to Shrewsbury on Sunday 19th June 2022 to attend a dinner with our local MP Daniel Kawczynski, councillors and party members at Shrewsbury Towns Montgomery Waters Meadow, in an event hosted by the Shrewsbury and Atcham Conservative Association (SACA).
Greeted by over 100 party members the home secretary spent time discussing issues with individuals before giving a passionate speech covering the major issues she faces in her role and the tough choices the PM and cabinet are having to make.
During her visit the home secretary unveiled a bust of Shrewsbury’s Charles Darwin which is due to be auctioned off at a later date to raise money for the local party.
Guests including members from across the county enjoyed a three-course meal which included a raffle and auction.
The officers of SACA would like to go on record to thank the Home Secretary for her company on the day and making time in her incredibly busy schedule to meet with members and activists.
