Shropshire Council are holding a public consultation into dog fouling and the control of dogs in public spaces.
Under the PSPO, dogs would be excluded from play areas and sports areas. They would be required to wear a lead on the public highway. Officers would also have the power to ask for a dog to be put on a lead where they are not under the control of their owner, or are acting aggressively.
An 8 week consultation into the proposal has begun. The consultation runs until 21st December 2023. The findings will then be brought back to cabinet for further consideration and final approval early next year.
People are being asked for their views through a number of questions in a survey about the proposal, along with other feedback, ideas and suggestions. Please have your say by visiting:

Please do take the time to have your say so that the new legislation is well informed and properly enacted.
