Dear friends,
Exactly one year ago, I helped secure £18.7 million from the Conservative Government by lobbying them to award Shropshire Council with the money from the Levelling Up Fund to redevelop Shrewsbury’s town centre.
The town centre is the heart of Shrewsbury and the redevelopment of the Smithfield and Riverside areas means that it will continue to beat for the foreseeable future.
I am of course thrilled to read the Council’s recent announcement that the old Riverside Shopping Centre is going to close soon for demolition which will pave the way for work to commence on building our new regenerated town centre.
Well done to everyone at the Council, especially Professor Mark Barrow, who has worked so hard to start making this vision a reality!
