How can I get others helping the Conservative Party?
The most important way of helping the Conservative Party is through the local Association:
- By being a paid up member
- By encouraging others to become paid up members of the Conservative Party
- By encouraging others to vote for our local Conservative candidates in forthcoming elections, (local & General)
- By becoming a candidate for local Government elections in Shrewsbury
Become a Member
Members play an active role in the Party, and receive important voting rights in Party elections. As a Member, you’ll be able to:
- Decide who represents the Party in local and general elections
- Vote in elections for the Party Leader and in your local Association’s AGM
- Attend Party Conferences
In addition, you’ll receive:
- Access to our Affinity Programme which provides great discounts on a wide range of products
- A membership card and welcome booklet
- Regular social events
Becoming a Member costs £39 a year - or £10 a year if you’re under 26 years old - or armed forces £25 a year.

Join as a Patron
Joining as a Patron allows you access to our Patrons Programme. This includes a number of events throughout the year, business breakfasts with MP's and our MP for Shrewsbury Daniel Kawczynski. Specialist events are designed to make the most of your Patrons Membership.
- Access to our exclusive Patrons Programme
- A membership card and welcome booklet
- Regular exclusive events and access to Ministers
If you have a little more time, you might like to consider volunteering:
- Helping to deliver one of our “In Touch’ Newsletters in your local area.
- Writing an article or helping to design an article for the “In Touch” Newsletters.
- Helping with fundraising by attending or supporting one of our social events (See Events page)
- During an election period: leafleting, canvassing, telling, and displaying Conservative election posters/boards on your property.

Being a member of the Shrewsbury Conservative Association means that you have joined the most open and democratic political party in Britain. After the first three months of your membership, you will be entitled to a vote in Party ballots. You will also have a chance to influence Party policy by letting us know your views.

- Host a Conservative event for your local Association Branch.
- Attend, help set up or help organise one of the Shrewsbury Conservative Association clubs (See Events Page).
- Set up a local Association branch in your area if one isn’t currently in operation.
- Donate to the Association either as an individual or business.
- Be part of the Campaigning Team when a General Election is announced.
- Put yourself forward to be selected as a Conservative Candidate in local elections.
